Why aKDPhi?

I joined aKDPhi because I wanted to make new connections and meet new people. As a transfer student and commuter, I wanted a place where I would feel comfortable and safe. Coming out to recruitment I felt 100% welcomed and I knew that this sorority was the place I wanted to be.

CROSSING YEAR: Fall 2021 with the Alpha Xi XENaCIOUS

BIG SISTER: #191 Angie “hI.rIse” Sianturi

Why aKDPhi?

I am a commuter and it was difficult meeting new people and making new friends when I first entered college. I wanted to find a sense of belonging almost like a home away from home because I had found that in high school through a cultural organization/club. I wanted to find something like that as well because I enjoyed being a part of a team and having similar interests and passions that brought us together. Meeting sisters at recruitment was the most social I've been when college first started and everyone was super sweet and welcoming which furthered pushed me to wanting to become a part of this community.

CROSSING YEAR: Spring 2022 with the Alpha Omicron Obsidians𓅰

BIG SISTER: Gwyneth "gar🦢A" Hu

Why aKDPhi?

The reason I was initially drawn to aKDPhi was because of my experience during recruitment week. Honestly, I was nervous to attend events and even more nervous to talk to the girls. However, when I was able to branch out and speak up a little more I realized that everyone was super kind and welcoming. And as I’ve been a part of the sorority I’ve been able to find and connect with some of my closest friends!

Why aKDPhi?

I joined aKDPhi because I really resonated with the sisters as well as what the organization stood for. I struggled meeting new people at university and I already knew some sisters and they asked me to come out to some events. aKDPhi has also given me an amazing support system and helped pushed me out of my comfort zone.

Why aKDPhi?

At first, I was extremely intimidated by sorority life because I only knew about it from Bama Rush. But my friends encouraged me to try it out and I am extremely grateful that I was pushed out of my comfort zone to do this. I met some of my best friends through this organization as well as my role models/support systems. I love how welcoming and understanding everyone is!
